HOW many puppies did you say, Dr.?

Anna and I just got back from the vet’s office with Rosie.  We thought Miss Rose was looking quite large for as far along as she is in her pregnancy.  As the preliminary ultrasound predicted, this is a LARGE litter.  I was thinking 8, 9, 10 puppies.  Just how many did we see on an xray taken this afternoon????

TWELVE PUPPIES, ALL SNUGGLED UP TOGETHER IN ROSIE’S BELLY!

I guess it’s no surprise, then, when we look at Rosie and wonder if there’s such thing as a “labra-cow”- MOO!

As of today, she’s on Day 55 of her 63 day pregnancy.  Rosie’s technically due next Saturday, February 12, but could deliver a day or two early (or late….).  Poor girl can’t find a comfortable position for sleeping.  I woke up last night to her sitting up, leaning against the wall and nodding off.  When she sits, her tummy rests on the floor.

I’m trying to wrap my mind around caring for 12 little doodles…wow.

  1. Poor Rosie – I hope she isn’t too uncomfortable. I can’t wait to come see her puppies and give her a BIG hug!
